Chandigarh Police ASI Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

Candidates who qualify in the Written Exam will undergo the Chandigarh Police ASI Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Measurement Test. The requirements for the Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Measurement Test are as follows:

• Height (Male): 170 cm
• Height (Female): 157 cm
• Chest (Male): 81 cm with an expansion of 4 cm.

Selection Criteria, Examination, and Syllabus for Chandigarh Police ASI Recruitment:

1. All candidates, including ex-servicemen, will undergo a Single Examination consisting of two Tiers: Tier I – OMR Sheet Based Test (50 Marks) and Tier II Written Test (50 Marks).
2. The OMR Sheet-Based Test (Tier I) will have 50 multiple-choice objective questions covering General Knowledge/Current Affairs, I.T. Knowledge, IQ, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, and Ethics. Each correct answer carries one mark, and there is a negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer.
3. The Written Test (Tier II) will be subjective and include questions on Language Essay (English, Hindi, Punjabi) – 30 marks and Language Skills (English) – 20 marks.
4. The minimum qualifying cut-off marks for Tier-I will be 33% for all categories.
5. Only candidates scoring the minimum qualifying marks in Tier-I will be eligible for the evaluation of their Tier-II Test. The Director General of Police reserves the right to change the cut-off marks if needed, with reasons recorded in writing.
6. Shortlisted candidates from the written test will be called for PE&MT (Physical Efficiency and Measurement Test) at 10 times the number of candidates in each category based on merit.
7. The question paper for both Tier-I and Tier-II will be available in Hindi, English, and Punjabi. Candidates must choose their preferred language during the online application process, and no change of medium will be permitted.
